The shop is open from 9am -5.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am-4pm on Saturdays. Outside of these hours you can order online.
The only timed delivery we offer is for sympathy flowers - please include the time of the funeral on the form when ordering. Unfortunately for everyday flowers we cannot specify a specific time but all flowers are delivered between 9am and 5pm.
The delivery charge for each individual item is a minimum of £4.99. This increases gradually depending on the distance from the shop up to a maximum charge of £9.99. To find out what the delivery charge for your postcode would be click here (pop up box with postcodes and costs?)
You can place an order up until 2pm for same day delivery. After this time the first delivery slot will be the following day.
No we only make deliveries when the shop is open. The only exception to this is mothering Sunday where deliveries take place in the morning.
If you or the recipient are not there when the driver attempts to make delivery of your flowers we will either leave them in a safe place or your choice specified on the order form or with a neighbour for collection on your/their return.
A hand-tied bouquet is where the stems have been arranged by a florist and gift wrapped in tissue with the stems left open ready to be placed into a vase of water on delivery. An Aqua-pack bouquet is presented in gift bag and finished with tissue and contains a water bubble for the flower to travel in.
Where the flowers are specified as flowers in a vase or jug, yes the vase or jug is included. As our stock levels are constantly changing the vase or jug pictured may change but will be substituted with an item of the same value and similar aesthetic. If there is a vase in The Grey Home Company that you would like us to use then order this separately and choose a hand-tied bouquet from Stems. In the notes section at checkout ask for the flowers to be delivered in the vase.
When your flowers are delivered the most important thing to ensure vase life is to re-cut the stems before they are placed into water. If you have received a hand-tied bouquet the stems will already be arranged and will just need placing into a vase of your choice with the flower food provided. If you have received an aqua-pack bouquet they can be left in the gift bag for a maximum of two days before being transferred into a vase of clean water, re-cutting the stems before putting them into the vase.
We offer a 5 day freshness guarantee on all our fresh flowers. We want you to be able to enjoy the flowers for as long as possible within your home and as such the flowers will be delivered in bud aso that they gradually open and reach their full beauty within a few days. As such the flowers may look different to the image on the website when delivered as these have been taken to show the flowers once they have opened.
You can make changes to an order up until 4pm the day prior to delivery. This is to allow us to order in the stock for your order to make fresh on the morning of delivery. If you wish to do this please call us in the shop to discuss further on 01403 738670.
We do not offer specific bouquets with pre-set flower lists like you get from the big chains and supermarkets. Our ethos is based upon using only the best quality, seasonal blooms with freshness our top priority. We have a team of highly trained florists to make the best selection of flowers for you based on the days market. If there is a specific flower you wish to incorporate then the best thing is to give us a call and discuss your requirements in person and if we can accommodate the request we certainly will.
